SANDWICH GLASS MUSEUM

PRESENTS

RICKY BERNSTEIN AND JEWELRY BY PENROSE DESIGNS

The Sandwich Glass Museum is privileged to present Ricky Bernstein and "Glass Jewelry by Penrose Design" in the Contemporary Gallery on February 1 to March 28, 2013. Penrose Jewelry is constructed with hand blown glass beads made by internationally known artist Ricky Bernstein.  His works grace many Museum collections, both national and international.

The jewelry is conceived by Elisabeth Cary, whose inspiration is derived from her passion for gardening and the lovely use of color.  Penrose glass jewelry is handcrafted from hand blown glass beads and Austrian crystals.  A multi-layered effect is achieved through a careful layering process using colored glass pigment and clear hot glass.  Ear wires and clasps are sterling silver. Penrose Jewelry is made and assembled in their studio in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts.

Also on display, you will see examples of Ricky’s unique style of sculpture, one entitled Agility and Grace 2012 and the other Time on his Hands 2008.  The detailed craftsmanship, color and vibrancy together with a certain intimacy make for a compelling display.

Penrose Jewelry will be able for purchase in our Museum Store.
