The Museum is hosting a Volunteer Docent Program to encourage community involvement and improve our visitor experience. Share your own love of the Sandwich Glass Museum with our visitors.
What experience is required to become a Volunteer Docent?
None! All you need is a passion for learning and sharing that knowledge with others.
We are looking for volunteers with an interest in historical glass and who enjoy working with the public.
Training courses and educational materials will be provided.
What does becoming a Docent entail?
Docents are volunteer teachers and group leaders whose goal is to ensure visitors get the most out of their trip. We expect our volunteers to lead tours through the collection and the temporary exhibits, as well as gather visitor feedback. Volunteers should be able to provide the most up-to-date information on the collection, our temporary exhibits, and the museum’s programs.

If selected, candidates will be required to complete a three-day training course that provides the necessary foundational knowledge to educate others on our vast collection. An informational packet will be sent to candidates prior to the first day of training.
