Pink Pumpkin 2025

2025's Pink Pumpkin Event at the Sandwich Glass Museum was nothing short of inspiring! Guests gathered for an evening of community, artistry, and education in support of breast cancer awareness and early detection advocacy. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who attended, the night was a remarkable success!

The evening began with a warm reception in the Cut Glass Gallery, where attendees enjoyed refreshments, viewed our stunning pink pumpkin display, and met the evening’s speakers and artists. When the crowd transitioned into the auditorium, the atmosphere shifted to heartfelt reflection. We were honored to welcome Jennifer Rako, breast cancer survivor, advocate, and co-managing director at Reynolds, Rappaport, Kaplan and Hackney, along with Dr. Naomi Kalliath, Board-Certified Breast Surgeon at Cape Cod Healthcare. Their messages of hope, perseverance, and proactive care truly resonated with every person in the room.

After the presentations, guests returned to the hot shop for the most unforgettable part of the night. The first glass demo featured Jennifer Rako, stepping up to the bench for her very first hands-on glass experience! Guided by Kim Savoie, she helped create a glowing pink pumpkin that later sold in the live auction for $500. It was a powerful and symbolic moment that connected her story to the art unfolding in front of us.

The second demo, led by Yukimi Matsumoto and Kim Savoie, brought the audience into a hush of admiration. Together, they created an elegant woman-shaped vase with delicate glass flowers. This breathtaking piece quickly became the star of the auction and sold for an incredible $2,000! The cheers that followed said it all.

In addition to the live auction, dozens of pink pumpkins found new homes throughout the evening, pushing our proceeds even higher and strengthening our impact for this important cause. Every purchase, bid, and donation will directly support breast cancer awareness and prevention efforts right here in our community.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to our speakers, artists, volunteers, sponsors, staff, and every guest who made this event meaningful and memorable. Together, we proved that art can do more than move us. It can bring hope, spark generosity, and change lives!
Thank you for helping us shine a light, one pink pumpkin at a time!
