Sea Fair 2025

Sea Fair 2025

Our 7th Annual Sea Fair museum fundraiser was a huge success! Despite the uncertain weather we had even more visitors than last year, which made for a festive atmosphere.

And this year we had three new artists! Shown above is the work of David Hopko, an avid fisherman and skilled glass artist from Northern California. His dramatic and amazingly life like sea creatures are truly gorgeous.

We also featured the work of local flame-working artist Eric Duyette, who lives and works in Somerville...

...and of Michael Hudson of Kentucky. His pufferfish were especially popular and entirely sold out!

But the biggest draw of the weekend was our beloved Isabel Green, whose flame-working studio is right here in Sandwich. She was demonstrating her artistry both days, and spent the entire time surrounded by a crowd of admirers.

We were also very successful in recruiting new museum members, adding 22 new members! Welcome!  The membership raffle prize for this event was a beautiful candy dish created by our weekday glassblowing demonstration artist Peter Waechter.

David of Harwich Port, the prize winner, had this to say: "Wow, that’s incredible. I can’t believe I won something. Lol".  We love making our members happy <3

Our next retail fundraising event is at the end of July, the weekend of July 26th. We plan to have a Long Table Event the evening of Friday July 25th, then hold our midsummer retail fundraiser, which this year we've renamed "The Glass Gathering", because the first gather of glass at the Boston & Sandwich Glass Company happened in mid July in 1825, 200 years ago.

It's going to be a Celebratory Bicentennial Summer!
