Artist Profile: Lynn Anderson
I love the process of creating. I begin with an idea then work backward to formulate a plan of construction. The movement, coordination and strength of my hands to form metal is meditation in motion. With that, I am inspired by the shades and shapes of light in nature during our seasons in New England. The gift is a blend of color and design of metal and glass.

My grandfather was a diamond setter for Bigelow, Kennard & Co., a prominent Boston jewelry store, specializing in high quality jewelry, watches and silverware. He had family ties to Sweden, and in the early 1900's the King of Sweden commissioned him to make the Queen's tiara. His career ended early due to illness, but he had carefully packed his jewelry tools that were stored for decades. I inherited those tools when I enrolled in the North Bennett Street School's program for Jewelry Making and Repair. I am proud to use some of them in my work.
I shared my knowledge and skills through teaching. I held dozens of workshops at a well known jewelry supply store. Friendships formed while bending metal and building jewelry. One of my students went on to start her own business!
