Now Hiring: Assistant Museum Shop Manager (32 Hours/Week)
Join the team at the Sandwich Glass Museum and help create an exceptional shopping experience for thousands of visitors from around the world.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Assistant Museum Shop Manager to support the daily operations of our beautiful Glass Museum Shop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail leadership experience who enjoys working with handcrafted art, local artisans, and a vibrant museum community.
Position: Assistant Museum Shop Manager
Schedule: 32 hours per week (includes weekends and occasional holidays)
What You’ll Do
- Assist with the daily operation of the Museum Shop
- Deliver outstanding customer service to museum visitors
- Support merchandising, product displays, and seasonal shop presentations
- Assist with inventory management, receiving, and restocking
- Supervise and support shop staff and volunteers
- Operate the point-of-sale system and handle cash accurately
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming retail environment
Qualifications
- Retail experience required; supervisory or key-holder experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Ability to help expand our online sales platform
- Comfortable working with retail POS-and updating computer tracking systems. Shopify experience a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Appreciation for the art and history of glass and its glass artists is a plus.
