Glass Fusing

Explore the vibrant world of color and texture as you learn essential techniques for cutting, layering, and fusing glass. You will also have the opportunity to learn a bit about flame-working by bending glass rods in a candle flame. By the end of the class, you’ll have made 2 unique, wearable or hangable works of art that showcase your creativity. Join us for a fun and educational experience that celebrates the timeless beauty of glass art! 

Dates:  February 18th & March 14th, 10am and 1pm 

Duration: 2 hours

Ages: 8 and up 

Project: Create 2 glass pendants

Pick up: There is up to a one week delay in pick up time because of the kiln firing. We would be happy to ship you your finished project pieces if you're unable to pick them up yourself.

Note for families: You will be breaking glass with pliers and working with glass fragments. For that reason we request that kids between 8 and 13 be accompanied and supervised by an older responsible person. Thank you for your understanding.  

About the Instructor

Kim Savoie is an accomplished glass artist based in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, with over 13 years of expertise in the art of glassmaking. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the prestigious Massachusetts College of Art and Design, graduating in 2013, where she honed her skills and deepened her knowledge of the craft.

Savoie’s career has since been dedicated to both production glassmaking and educating the public on the art, history, and science of glass. She has had the privilege of working internationally with the Corning Museum of Glass, the largest glass museum in the world, building her own glass production line, and has taught all over the northeast.
