Glass Bazaar

Glass Bazaar

Immediately following the Glass Gathering, on Saturday and Sunday July 26th and 27th, we held our 3rd Annual Glass Bazaar. Similar to our other retail events, Sea Fair in the Spring and Pumpkin Fest in the Fall, the Glass Bazaar is a festive retail event designed to raise money for the Museum and attract new visitors by drawing passers by in under the tent to browse the art glass and come see a glass blowing demonstration.

We made multiple innovations this year. One was to invite glass artists to come in person, so event-goers could meet the artists and feel a greater personal connection to the glass art they purchased. In attendance were David McDermott, the artist who makes all of our historical reproductions...

...along with Karen Gola, Michelle Trammel and Michael Magyar, with Don Parkinson conductive flame working demonstrations, much to the fascination and delight of the crowd.

The second innovation was to invite food trucks to attend the event. Saturday's food truck was the Frosty Treats truck out of Buzzard's Bay, and Sunday was Sandwich's own Cape Cod Donuts! So tasty!

A wonderful time was had by all, and many souvenirs of a happy time on Cape Cod were acquired.
