About Gallery Belleau 

Christopher R. Belleau has been captivated by glass since he first picked up a blowpipe at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1981, beginning a lifelong exploration of the medium’s limitless possibilities. Inspired by nature and the inherent qualities of glass, his artistry combines skilled craftsmanship with experimentation, allowing each piece to evolve organically through form, color, movement, and texture. Working from his own studio in Providence, Rhode Island, Christopher often begins with a simple drawing or idea before transforming it into a sculptural work through the demanding process of hot glassblowing. He creates many of his own glass colors using metal oxides, developing a distinctive palette and embracing the beautiful unpredictability that comes with working in molten glass. Flowers, fish, vases, paperweights, and other forms reflect his playful curiosity and commitment to refining traditional techniques while continually discovering new possibilities. After more than four decades as a glass artist, Christopher’s work celebrates the extraordinary dialogue between imagination, craftsmanship, and the ever-changing nature of glass.
