About Elias Studio

Elias Studios is a hot glass studio in the coastal village of Westport, Massachusetts, where husband-and-wife team John and Jennie Elias have worked together since 1991 to create colorful, functional blown glass that brings art into everyday life. With more than three decades of experience, John combines his background in ceramics with traditional glassblowing techniques, using vibrant layers of colored glass frit to create distinctive patterns, movement, and rhythm in every piece. Inspired by gardens, birds, stained-glass windows, paintings, and other visual experiences, his work invites viewers to discover their own personal imagery within the unexpected combinations of color and light. John holds an MFA in Glass from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a BFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and his work has been featured in galleries, museums, and botanical garden shops across the country. Jennie, who manages the many aspects of the studio’s production and operations, brings her own artistic background and experience as an educator, holding an MAT from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts. Together, John and Jennie bring a deep appreciation for glass, color, craftsmanship, and light to each piece, creating work that is both functional and richly expressive.
