About Green Mountain Glassworks

Green Mountain Glassworks explores the endless creative possibilities of glass through the intricate tradition of Italian cane, inspired by the centuries-old techniques of Murano. The studio specializes in creating its own cane by combining clear glass with vibrant colored glass from Germany and New Zealand. Using traditional techniques, the team carefully draws, twists, and stretches large masses of molten glass into remarkably long, detailed rods, sometimes reaching 50 feet in length while remaining as slender as a pencil. Creating cane in-house gives the artists complete creative control, allowing each design to develop from an initial concept into a finished work of art. The resulting cane is cut into shorter sections and incorporated into both functional glassware and sculptural pieces, becoming an integral part of each design. Through this meticulous process, Green Mountain Glassworks celebrates craftsmanship, tradition, color, and the transformative possibilities of glass.
