About Michelle Trammel

Michelle Trammel has been working with glass since 2001, developing a deep appreciation for both the material and the creative process behind it. Her artistic practice centers on glassblowing, while also embracing teaching, collaboration, and demonstrations as ways to share her passion for the medium with others. As an instructor in the MIT Glass Lab, Michelle helps introduce students to the possibilities of glass and has work on display at the MIT Museum. She has further developed her craft through studies at The Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, where she learned from renowned glass masters Lino Tagliapietra and Davide Salvadore. In recent years, Michelle has expanded her practice to include glass mosaic and coldworking, exploring new techniques that complement her blown glass work. Holding degrees in Computer Science and Literature from MIT, Michelle brings a unique combination of technical curiosity, creativity, and artistic exploration to her work.
