Founded in 2002, McDermott Glass Studio is a family-run glassblowing studio in Sandwich, Massachusetts, created by David McDermott and his wife, Yukimi Matsumoto. David’s mastery of traditional Scottish glassblowing, developed under renowned Scottish glass master Robert Mason, pairs beautifully with Yukimi’s refined eye for design and form. In 2006, Isabel Green joined the studio, bringing a particular talent for sculpting imaginative creatures, and Peter Waechter later joined to complete the current team of four. Together, the artists combine passion, precision, and carefully coordinated timing to transform molten glass into intricate works of art. Dedicated to preserving the Scottish glassblowing tradition while continuing to explore their own creative ideas, McDermott Glass Studio produces pieces that are both technically remarkable and visually captivating.
