In 2025 the Sandwich Historical Society and its Glass Museum is celebrating the bi-centennial of the glass industry in Sandwich, founded in 1825.
School Break Fun!
Tues. Feb. 18th come learn to fuse glass in this 2 hour beginner class for all ages.
Museum Re-Opening February 1
We open our doors Saturday February 1st! Special exhibits Nina Sutton and From the Makers' Hands are running Wednesday - Sunday till March 30th.
In The Contemporary Gallery
February 1st also marks the opening of our year-long exhibition of studio glass art from the artists of the Vermont Glass Guild, entitled "Contemporary New England Glass".
Sandwich Community Day
Calling all Sandwich Town residents! Bring any form of ID showing you are a resident of the Village of Sandwich, East Sandwich or Forestdale, and we'll let you in for free on
Saturday February 15th!Â
Glassblowing demonstrations are hourly on the hour; please plan to arrive before 3 pm to give yourself sufficient time to enjoy everything the museum has to offer before the 4pm closing time.Â

Reproduction Of the Month
In honor of our bi-centennial we will be spotlighting a different historical reproduction each month. February's reproduction-of-the-month is the Heart and Diamond Cup Plate.

Pardon Our Mess!
Sandwich Glass Museum is partnering with the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School to help build a replicated hot shop with a faux furnace for our new Discover Glass Room. We will be launching simulated glass experiences for children of all ages to learn more about the tools and the art of making glass. Check back regularly for news about our Discover Glass Room opening and educational programming. Huge thanks to the students at Upper Cape Tech for all their work to help make this happen!
