Artist Profile: Claire Kelly

Claire Kelly graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University in 1996.  She spent her early career working with glass artists and learning specialty techniques especially in the creation of color and pattern in blown glass. In 2008 Claire moved to Providence, RI to work with acclaimed glass artist Toots Zynsky, where she stayed until setting out to pursue her own work again in 2019.

She has been an instructor at Penland School of Crafts, Pilchuck Glass School, the Pittsburgh Glass Center, The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and the Centro Fundacion del Vidrio in Spain. Claire continues to create her work utilizing the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass while working to grow and nurture the glass community there. She was featured as a contestant on the Netflix series Blown Away premiering in the summer of 2022.
