Artist Profile: Fritz Glass

Fritz Lauenstein, founder of Fritz Glass, started blowing glass in 1974 at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine. He then attended Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. In 1984 Fritz and his partner June moved to Dennis Port, Cape Cod, where his family is from, and opened Fritz Glass in 1991.

Since Fritz Glass began, its iconic colorful glassware has grown an international cult following. Fritz is known as one of the top marble makers working today and his glass has been featured by institutions across the country including Barney's, Neiman Marcus, the Smithsonian, Anthropologie, and hung on the White House Christmas tree.
